Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) Initiatives and Operational Results

Based on the Mitsubishi Pencil Group Human Rights Policy, the Mitsubishi Pencil Group promotes a process to identify, assess, prevent, and mitigate adverse human rights impacts related to its business activities (Human Rights Due Diligence, or HRDD). This process is regularly monitored through the Sustainability Promotion Committee. The main activities conducted during fiscal year 2025 are outlined below.

1. Identification and Assessment of Risks in the Supply Chain

We request our business partners to support and comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct and conduct assessments through regular dialogue to identify potential human rights and labor-related risks.
In fiscal year 2025, we conducted 663 communication and awareness-raising activities regarding the Supplier Code of Conduct for key suppliers.

2. Prevention and Mitigation of Adverse Impacts and Awareness-Raising Activities

To address identified risks, we engage in dialogue with suppliers and continuously provide internal training to enhance employees' awareness and understanding of human rights.
In fiscal year 2025, we conducted 12 dialogues with suppliers concerning human rights and related issues. In addition, the completion rate for human rights and compliance training provided to headquarters directors, officers, and employees between December 2025 and August 2026 was 84%.

3. Operation of Grievance Mechanisms (Remediation and Remedy)

To enable the early identification and remediation of adverse human rights impacts, we have established multiple reporting channels, including a Help Line, a Harassment Consultation Desk for employees and other stakeholders, and an external reporting channel operated by an independent law firm.
These mechanisms are operated with strict protection of whistleblowers' anonymity and privacy, and all forms of retaliation or disadvantageous treatment against individuals who raise concerns are strictly prohibited.
In fiscal year 2025, we received 21 consultations and reports related to human rights, labor, and harassment issues. We completed investigations and implemented appropriate responses for all reported cases.
