Reason's you cannot write with a ballpoint pen

[日本語]

b) In case clog in the flow path

The above picture is the difference when the ball is removed from inside the pen tip. Ballpoint pen transfers ink to paper by rotating the ball at the tip of the pen but on the other hand, this rotation may roll in paper materials (fiber, talc, coating agent) and others to get caught in the tip of the pen from the paper surface.

This clog may be ejected by test writing, but if the symptom recurs, try the following.

  • If it occurs with oil-based ballpoint pens.
Changing to gel ink ballpoint pens or water-based ballpoint pens.
  • If it occurs with gel ink ballpoint pens.
    ① Changing to a larger ball diameter. (Example: 0.28mm → 0.38mm)
② Writing angle of 60 ° or more at which the ball rotates on the paper.
